The Consular Section of the United States Embassy in Gaborone provides routine services and emergency assistance to U.S. Citizens visiting or residing in Botswana.
Between 24 March and 28 April 2014 the U.S. Embassy Gaborone Consular Section will be reduced to limited routine services for U.S. Citizens. If you require routine services during this time-frame, we will require you to schedule an appointment using our ConsularGaborone@State.Gov email address. Routine services for U.S. Citizens include:
- Accepting applications for passports and additional passport pages
- Recording the birth of U.S. citizens
- Notarizing documents
- Voting Assistance
- Marriage & Divorce papers
- Adoption Assistance
- U.S. Citizenship for Minors and Adults
- Assistance with Federal Benefits

While we do not require appointments for routine U.S. Citizen Services, we encourage you to schedule one; particularly if you will be traveling long distances to the Embassy.
