Office of Defense Cooperation

The Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) in Gaborone is subordinate to the United States European Command (USEUCOM).

The Office of Defense Cooperation represents U.S. defense interests in Botswana by managing U.S. security assistance programs, supporting cooperative arms programs, coordinating host nation support, conducting joint planning and acting as liaison for other defense matters of mutual concern under the authority of Part II of the Foreign Assistance Act (FAA) of 1961 as amended, and under the provisions of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA), formerly the Foreign Military Sales Act (FMSA).
