Fourteen Batswana Women Honored as Vanguard Leaders by U.S. Embassy

In commemoration of International Women's Day and Women's History Month, the U.S. Embassy in Botswana honored 14 vanguard women leaders as role models for girls and young women who look to them as examples of excellence. At a ceremony on March 9, 2005, attended by more than 250 people, Ambassador Joseph Huggins noted that "in any country, in any age, the women would stand out for their dedication and vision."
